The 2026 summer program is open to current 6-8th graders who will take advanced academic coursework in Spanish, English Composition, Psychology, African American History, Math and Robotics. Dual enrollment options are available.
Cost is $180 a week. This does not include dual enrollment tuition. Families can choose 9 am - 12 pm or 9 - 4 pm. The program takes Family Support Service funds as well as the Georgia Promise Scholarship.
All applicants must get a recommendation from their teacher demonstrating aptitude and transcript and for homeschool applicants, please submit the homeschool transcript and testing results. The deadline to apply is March 7, 2026. Dual enrollment students must take a college entrance exam.

After being selected by their middle schools and taking and passing a college entrance exam during the fall 2022, in January 2023, the first cohort of the Early College Academy in class of 22 eighth-graders participated in dual enrollment college classes in Macon, GA. These students took dual enrollment Elementary Spanish I with Dr. Farryn Slaton-Barkley who was the founder of the program, and then took Elementary Spanish II during the summer semester.
Parents paid no tuition costs for this program.
100% of the participants say that the Academy positively encouraged them to continue with dual enrollment.
85% of the participants have continued to take dual enrollment courses.
