Rising Scholars Collective empowers students and families by bridging early access to college and informed educational choices, with a focus on neurodivergent students and their families. By guiding students from middle school through college dual enrollment programs, including a specialized pre-medicine track, it equips them with the academic foundation and confidence to succeed in higher education because there currently exists gaps in the traditional education systems, especially for twice exceptional (gifted and disabled), neurodivergent, underserved and would-be first generation college students.
Through partnerships with school districts, Rising Scholars Collective also educates parents to become effective learning coaches in English and Spanish and annually hosts a regional School Choice Fair to help families and access the best educational opportunities for their child in Middle Georgia as a part of its family advocacy mission.
By equipping students with transferable college credits and foundational skills before high school graduation, the program shortens the time and cost to earn a degree or credential, increasing odds of student matriculation to colleges and universities. Additionally, it partners with schools and communities to provide career exploration, mentoring, and readiness tools that connect academic achievement with real-world workplace opportunities. Students who live farthest from privilege, particularly those attending Title I schools, face systemic barriers that limit their access to high-quality educational opportunities. In many under-resourced districts, advanced coursework, dual enrollment programs, and college-level academic experiences are either unavailable or offered to only a small number of students. As a result, talented and motivated students are often denied early exposure to college expectations, credit-bearing courses, and pathways that make higher education attainable and affordable.
Research consistently shows that students who participate in dual enrollment are significantly more likely to enroll in college, persist through degree completion, and access higher-paying career opportunities. Yet access to these programs is deeply unequal, reinforcing cycles of poverty rather than disrupting them.
Rising Scholars Collective addresses this inequity by expanding access to rigorous, college-aligned learning experiences for students in Title I districts, students who may not find these opportunities within their local school systems. Through strategic partnerships, advocacy, and program design grounded in equity and universal access, Rising Scholars ensures that students are not limited by their zip code or school funding.
By investing in Rising Scholars Collective, sponsors help remove structural barriers, create pathways to college and career success, and support students in breaking intergenerational cycles of poverty through education.
